We all play the fool sometime, but the question remains: Whose fool are you?

Lyrics

Whose Fool Are You?

If Apostle Paul was alive here today
Both body and soul came back from the grave
Do you think he would smile at the things he would see?
All the modern devices and all the technology?

Or would he be shocked at how little things have changed?
Though centuries have passed they remain the same
That the clothes seem so different yeah the buildings so strange
Yet war-hate-greed still flourish remain

No the truth is that Paul like a prophet - no fool
Saw the future quite clear for a man - so removed
For each letter he wrote has journeyed through time
Changing hearts - changing lives - changing man to divine

Still one would have to wonder what this apostle would do
Coming back to find a church that resembles a zoo
Like strange animals caged - separated by fear
Divided by doctrines - Paul would shed a tear...

CHORUS
Yeah poor Paul - was a fool for Christ
Rejected and mocked but he paid the price
He finished his race and his record was true
And he asks this question - whose fool are you? (2X)

But the problem you say - is the bible's too outdated
It's too old fashioned and just well overstated
And as far as ol Paul is concerned - now you say
He was fine for back then, but his words are passe

Besides all this talk about sin makes people depressed
Now people won't listen they just want to be blessed
Gimme this - gimme that - the new gospel of gain
with no need for denial - suffering or pain

Whose Fool Are You? continued

It's a gospel of greed - it's the popular theme
If it's crowds that you after such a marvelous scheme
Promise food - promise fun - if they'll follow the king
Make it sound like a game - promise them everything!

But times have changed - you hear preachers say
People want to hear good things if you want them to stay
Well the cross is too bloody and gruesome for most
Best talk about love - play it safe as the host...

Give your time - give your tithe - find your place in the pew
Serving God is so easy there's not too much to do
Yes a gospel of ease is the message you hear
Is God our Santa we command from our chair?

And there are those who say Paul was amiss
For suffering things when he could have been blessed
If only poor Paul knew what we know today
He'd have no problems - he'd confess them away...

Yeah poor Paul - was a fool for Christ
Rejected and mocked but he paid the price
He finished his race and his record was true
And he asks this question - whose fool are you?

Prov. 1:7-9 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge
But fools despise wisdom and instruction
My son, hear the instruction of your father
And do not forsake the law of your mother
For they will be a graceful ornament on your head
And chains about your neck.

Are you a fool for Christ? Are you a fool for the Savior? (2X)
